Disaster and Crisis Management Plan

Limited Campus Access

In an emergency situation, vehicle access may not be allowed via the normal access routes of the front and exit gates.  In such situations, the following procedures will be activated:

  1. See the Plan 1 chart if campus access is limited to the front gate only.

  2. See the Plan 2 chart if campus access is limited to the exit gate only.

  3. If campus access is not allowable via either the front or exit gates, the school shall initiate a "shelter in place", holding all students on campus.  If foot traffic is allowed and deemed necessary, faculty and staff may exit the campus by walking along the wash (on ground level) either toward the east or west, with Bethel Church or Faith Church as the destination.

  4. For either Plan 1 or 2, parents may be directed to park in Lot B and the Crusader Lot.

  5. Plan 2 calls for loading and unloading students on buses by the gym, unless the buses are already in the normal parking zone at loading time.

  6. Plan 1 calls for loading and unloading students on buses at their normal parking zone.  Buses will exit the back gate.

  7. In emergency situations, assistance from the police will be requested for in-street directing of traffic.  If the police are not on site and an emergency situation exists, the Traffic and Parking Coordinator may place traffic personnel in the streets to direct traffic.

  8. Plan 1 requires that the inside lane on Village Street be closed, since only one incoming lane will be available into the campus (the second will become an exit lane).  The lane will be blocked through the use of traffic barriers and cones.
