What is an Intranet?

In essence, this intranet is the school's personal Employee Internet.  You use it just as you would the Internet.   The most obvious difference, however, relates to access.  Unlike the Web, parts of our intranet are restricted to the eyes of our employees.

Here you will find important information about your employment at VCS:

News:  You will find articles that give you information about our employment at VCS. For example, articles on what we are doing to improve your safety at school, up-coming retirement receptions, and news about benefit changes.

Benefits Information:  A great deal of information is available about all of our benefits and how much they cost. This will enable you to make better decisions about which benefits you select.

Holidays: The exact dates for employee holidays will be listed for each school year.

Employee Handbook:  Specialty handbooks will be there for Faculty, Campus Aides, Bus Drivers, the Board and other such groups (some of these are still in development).  The employee handbook will answer most of your questions about your job.

Employee Forms: You will be able to download, save and/or print copies of many of the employment forms which are used at VCS. If you print the form, you can complete and submit it. For example, you can print a Sick Bank Distribution Request form or an Absence Request/Report form.  Most of the forms referred to in your employee handbook will be found here.

General Helps: You will find help for things such as a directory of employee phone extensions, information of how to use the features of our telephone system, who to contact if you are having problems with your medical or dental insurance, and special information about planning for retirement.
